A Loaded Barge
Here are pictures from Saturday (3-26-11). One reason why I like to photograph and film this massive dredge is mainly because of how rare it is throughout the world. This exact machine has been on many TV shows including the Discovery Channel. Luckily this time the barge was just about loaded which made it great to see the bucket dumping the material. Enjoy the pictures and the video will be uploaded soon!

Housing Development
Early this morning (Sunday) we took a ride out to one of my family members house who happens to live in a brand new housing development which is still under construction. To this date 700 homes have been built and 500 more are on the way, 5 more years of construction! The site is in a reclaimed quarry/sand pit and some of the machines from the quarry are still there. One of my favorite machines there would be the scrapers, being it is mostly rock where I live, its not everyday I see these machines.
Driving out there it is mostly farmland

Entering the construction zone
Here is a Komatsu D65E-8, one of the old machines from the quarry
And the rest of the machines
There were many other machines there such as a Cat 345BL, Komatsu HM300, PC400 excavator and some other dozers but were to far of a walk.
Enjoy!

Cat 920 & Manitowoc 555 Review - coming soon!
One of my most recent models is a Joal Cat 920. The model is in 1/50 scale and is very old but is well worth the $16.00 I paid for it!
The 555 crane is one of the best starter cranes out there, I have had it for some time now but never got the chance to put up a review, I plan to upload the review by the end of next week for any who are interested.

Manitowoc 18000 unloads steel at night!
My most favorite machine in my area is this massive crane, a Manitowoc 18000. It isn't very often I have seen it work in person, only 4 times. But after renting a hotel with a view of Ground Zero 450 feet above we seen it unloaded some massive I-Beams. It was impressive to say the least and the sound from it was insane! These photos are just a small fraction of what I took of it but are probably the best, they are some few people will ever get or even see. This crane is working in the "East Bathtub" at Ground Zero and is erecting steel for the Transit Hub which will be a massive train station that connects many subway lines not only from NY but also from NJ. The steel on this project is massive, some of it weighing in at 200 tons per piece.
Shown here is the 18000 reaching over to pick the steel off the trailers-

Back on after 2 years
Its 3:00AM Sunday morning and I figured I would give everyone a update who is following. From this day on I will continue to update with not only real equipment but also with diecast models which I know most do enjoy! Instead of just normal and sometimes boring pictures of just machines I will also show you photo's I take on the trip there and others you wouldn't see from me on youtube, I always find these types most interesting.
To start off the new year I figured I would show another dredger since it is the only photo set I have on my computer at the time. Enjoy and check back soon!
